I think it would be interesting to hear about peoples productivity workflow, what are the ways you work? How does tech help or interfere, are there best practices for curating, organizing and how can we best teach students to form good productivity habits online? This is something I think about every day. With so many choices of tools, how do we narrow down the field and choose the essentials that really help us be more productive, better communicators etc.
Do the students have a PLN have they mastered social networking; are they prepared to lead others? How are they forming relationships?
How do you find out about cool conferences?
Why are fewer people participating in free online conferences, webinars and moocs? over saturation or????
What potential does social media have for professional development in education?
How about the fight to stay relevant or cutting edge in your field? Anyone feel that it’s more challenging by the day?

Alexander Hayes is completing a PhD on wearable technologies. He feels, in his words, that ”we are on the cusp of a substantial shift in how we consider wearable technologies likely in the next 6 – 24 months … there has been a discernible shift in the “heat” generated from major consortiums now bringing to market technologies that are pervasively poised to radically re-organise what is said, done, remembered and perhaps more importantly re-wired for other parties purposes.
“Google Glass provides us all with a reason to question what it will mean to be interacting with our peers, family and loved ones through the fashion filter of a networked and location aware device. Body worn technologies such as Memoto and Autographer also join the list of data logging devices that we use to monitor and transmit data from our daily activities, either for health awareness, entertainment or myriad of other reasons.”
In this session, members of Webheads in Action, TALO, Worldbridges, and affiliated online communities and thought leaders will discuss the benefits, risks and perhaps harm that may arise with the rollout of second generation intelligent (smart) wearable technologies in our society.
On this episode, we carry on the idea of a 3rd Space, both in regard to physical and mental spaces. We talk about the idea of the entire city as the school, as well as a possible means to ground the chaos in the event an entire city was set free to play with this idea. Imagining a focus more on a networked individualism (B Wellman), than a standard prescription.

Of course, it's impossible to pull apart the different philosophical, political, and psychological threads that seem to attach themselves to badges, but the educators in this conversation begin to bring some clarity to the questions involved.
There's only so much that this many thoughtful participants can say in an hour, but we hope that there are a few moments while you are listening when you find yourself wanting to enter the conversation.
